Pen Pals - An artists story of interactive travel, exploring and adventure.
I am about to embark on the trip of a lifetime, hitching a ride! Getting ready to paint some of the most picturesque places in the world, meet people of all different backgrounds and cultures and make a lot of friends on the way, all without getting on a boat or a plane or even leaving my home on the Isle of Man.
Having visited many countries and absorbing the beauty of the different landscapes, it was South Africa that started me on my exhilarating journey in oils, and with that, the itch to see and paint more just couldn’t be pacified.
I realised that there must be another more economical way to be able to travel and paint, especially now with Covid, and the new restrictions making it increasingly difficult to travel. The internet is a wonderful tool when it comes to communicating to the rest of the world from your own living room, so this will be how I am going to achieve my goal.

I have so far collected pen pals from Suffolk, Cambodia, Vietnam, Sweden, Uganda, China and Ukraine, but I am appealing for more.
If you would like to get involved, I would like to ask for you to send me a photograph of your most favourite, Waterfall, Sunset, land or Seascape, from all over the world, home or where ever you have travelled, amateur or professional, phone camera or lens.
By sending me a photograph, you will be giving me permission to paint your photograph in my own style and my own way. If your photograph is used, I will inform you and post you a hand written thank you and the first signed copy of a series of limited edition prints of the final painting when complete.
